The company provides design & engineering consultancy services & bespoke turnkey solutions for modular buildings. MTE offers the complete turnkey service: design using the latest modelling techniques, engineering, assembly, architectural fit-out, pre-delivery testing, transportation, installation and on-site testing.

MTE is also renowned in the specialist design and engineering of fire and blast rated structures to clients worldwide. All MTE certified fire and blast walls are designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied to provide the most cost-effective and weight optimised solution to each individual project. MTE's ventilated heat shield, solar shield, and wind wall cladding designs are proven and provide protection for people and equipment against the effects of radiant heat and extreme weather.

MTE’s thermal defence products are designed for use in extreme environments and suited to defence and specialist industrial applications requiring high thermal performance within space and weight constraints. Using innovative microporous insulation materials our non-metallic system provides exceptional thermal performance for a wide range of applications where specialist insulants are required.

Using the latest in-house equipment and MTE’s extensive fabrication capacity, MTE also provides high quality fabrication services for ranges of complex structures. MTE offers bespoke fabrication services for both small and large components, built to meet stringent customer quality requirements.

Site Facilities

Shop Floor

Size not specified. MTE has an 8-acre riverside facility located by the River Tees, this has the capacity to lift over 70 Te single (tandem) lift and the flexibility to supply both sea and road transportable fabrications. The site has 4500m2 of indoor fabrication space, and 7 acres of external assembly, laydown and riverside frontage. MTE’s on-site modern office space accommodates MTE’s delivery teams, allowing the company to successfully deliver projects within a single site. MTE also has a 7200m2 Darlington fabrication facility and outside storage area to ensure that we are equipped to cater for the widest variety of work possible. The company have top of the range fabrication equipment including an 800T Brake Press and Ermaksan 4 KW Optical Laser Cutting machine. Supporting the production facilities are our administrative, sales, estimating, in-house design and state-of-the-art engineering functions, housed within 1700m2 of dedicated office space at our Darlington facility.

Recent Work

Switchgear Module

MTE recently completed a switchgear module for their client ISS. MTE worked closely with ISS to provide them with a full turn-key solution, providing design, engineering, fabrication, complete fit-out and installation at their customer’s site.

The engineered lightweight, road transportable switchgear module was fitted out with all the required additional ancillary equipment, which included internal and external lighting, small power, heating, air-conditioning, and a fire alarm. The site installation included raised steelwork, access stairs, platforms and all bespoke handrailing.

Fire & Blast Walls

MTE designed, engineered, fabricated and delivered Fire and Blast walls to their client, Drydocks World-Dubai for both HKZ Beta and HKZ Alpha Wind Farm Projects.

MTE’s Fire and Blast walls provide protection to personnel and equipment against the effects of blast and adverse environmental conditions. MTE's Fire and Blast protective systems are tailored to specific project requirements in the most cost-effective way.

Grillage & Sea Fastenings

MTE fabricated and delivered Sea Fastenings and Grillage to a decommissioning project in the North Sea. Weighing approximately 23 to 25 Tonnes, the fabrications were designed to secure topsides and jackets to transport barges as part of the offshore campaign, prior to transport and load in for decommissioning.

MTE completed these fabrications at their North East, Darlington fabrication facility.

Defence Project

MTE have recently supplied as part of their Thermal Defence product range, innovative insulation panels to a UK Defence project. The scope of work included product design, integrated 3D modelling and detailed component engineering.
