Metaltech are one of the UK leaders in the thermal processing of metals. Formed in 1981 we have developed extensive industrial processing skills and experience offering a wide range of heat treatment services to both national and international clients.
Today, the Company is principally involved in vacuum inert atmosphere, controlled atmosphere, plasma nitriding and induction heat treatments offering a range of these specialist treatments to all aspects of the engineering sector.
As a result of a comprehensive array of equipment which Metaltech has built up over 35 years, we can offer a vast range of heat treating services and process capabilities covering a range of metals and alloys. In addition to the heat treatment of carbon and alloy steels we have the facilities to process cast irons, copper and nickel based alloys, heat resistant alloys, sintered material, tool and die steels and a range of martensitic and austenitic stainless steels.
Our production capabilities have been extended to include several complementary surface coatings technologies. Working closely with a UK based paint manufacturer novel molybdenumn disulphide coatings have been developed for use in the excavation, automotive, offshore and aerospace industries. We have also introduced fluropolymer Xylan coatings to our range of services. Bespoke production cells enable these coatings to be applied on a volume basis. By introducing this service to satisfy the demands of our clients we successfully have embraced a “one stop shop” methodology as part of our lean manufacturing objectives. .
With Health and Safety at the forefront of the Company’s ethos we now have in our team several NEBOSH qualified employees, ensuring qualified personnel are always on site. Throughout the UK manufacturing sector NEBOSH is a universally recognised health and safety qualification giving valuable overview of the core aspects of occupational health and safety. Further embracing our commitment to in-house Health and Safety competence we have empowered a senior management member to become qualified in Training Principles and Practice ensuring we have a qualified professional in house for Health and Safety training and implementation.
Here at Metaltech we have striven to meet the changing demands of the engineering industry by continuously improving our quality standards combined with lean manufacturing practices. In 1994 Metaltech first gained the Management System standard BS5750 which is now universally recognised as ISO 9001. .
In 2011 we achieved qualification in Aerospace standard AS 9100. We have also been accredited to the ADS/SC21 the 21st Century supply chain performance monitor achieving bronze supplier status.
In 2012 we achieved qualification in Environmental standard ISO 14001.
In 2016 (as part of our F4N journey) we became certified in BS OHSAS 18001, the framework for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This enabled us to put in place policies, procedures and controls to allow us to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognised best practice.
